Declaration on accessibility

The Bundestheater-Holding endeavors to make its website accessible in accordance with the Web Accessibility Act (WZG) as amended to implement Directive (EU) 2016/2102 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 26 October 2016 on the accessibility of the websites and mobile applications of public sector bodies (OJ L 327, 2.12.2016, p. 1).

This accessibility statement applies to the website www.bundestheater.at

Status of conformity with the requirements

This website is partially compliant with conformance level AA of the “Web Content Accessibility Guidelines Web - WCAG 2.2” or with the applicable European standard EN 301 549 V2.1.2 (2018-08) due to the following incompatibilities and exceptions.

Non-accessible content

The content listed below is not accessible for the following reasons:

a) Incompatibility with accessibility regulations

Many, predominantly older PDF documents are not accessible. For example, they are not tagged so that screen reader users cannot read them or cannot read them with sufficient structural information. This means that WCAG success criterion 4.1.2 is not met.
For new PDF documents, it is intended to take into account the accessibility requirements according to WCAG 2.2 and, where possible, according to PDF/UA.

b) Disproportionate load

Scrollable PDF documents are hosted and published on the external service Heyzine. It is not possible to operate the display entirely via the keyboard. This means that WCAG success criterion 2.1.1 is not fulfilled. We intend to provide an accessible PDF document as an alternative.

Creation of this declaration on accessibility

This declaration was created on June 1, 2025.

The assessment of the website's compliance with the requirements of Directive (EU) 2016/2102 was carried out by a third party (KJU GmbH) in the form of an evaluation of the basic components of selected websites using WCAG 2.2 AA in 2025.
