Redesign of the Hanuschhof for climate protection
In cooperation with the Heidi Horten Collection and ART for ART, we implemented a site-specific artistic intervention by the Austrian artist collective Holla Hoop in spring 2025, which not only sends a strong visual signal for climate protection, but also makes a concrete contribution to improving the quality of life in Hanuschhof. The focus is on the creative redesign of the asphalt floor with a specially developed reflective paint that helps to reduce urban heat islands - an innovative contribution to sustainable urban design. Previous similar implementations have been able to demonstrate a reduction in the ambient temperature of up to 5 degrees! The project is supported by Dr. Hans-Peter Hutter, Professor of Environmental Medicine at the Medical University of Vienna.
In this way, we are not only making a design statement, but also showing how art, science and climate protection can work together to create positive impulses for public spaces.
