OPERN AIR in the Burggarten

An opera festival for everyone in the Burggarten with free admission

For the second time, the Vienna State Opera is celebrating the start of its season with an ‘Opern Air’ event in the Burggarten. From 7.30 pm, under the musical direction of Axel Kober and accompanied by the Vienna State Opera Chorus and Orchestra, stars such as Asmik Grigorian, Piotr Beczala, Juan Diego Flórez and Ludovic Tézier will perform there, with free admission.

The programme features a journey through the musical highlights of the season, with works ranging from Mozart, Wagner, Verdi and Bizet to Puccini, including arias, choruses and overtures.

ORF III will broadcast the concert live (with a delay) from 8.15 pm; it will also be shown simultaneously on the big screen at Vienna’s Rathausplatz.
