BundestheaterCard: Your ticket to more theaters
The BundestheaterCard is the free customer card for visitors to the Austrian Federal Theatres and is valid for all associated theaters: Vienna State Opera, Volksoper Vienna, Burgtheater, Akademietheater, Kasino am Schwarzenbergplatz and Vestibül.
You want to apply for a new BundestheaterCard
Subscribers to the Austrian Federal Theatres receive the BundestheaterCard automatically. If you are not a subscriber but are interested in a BundestheaterCard, you can apply for one as follows:
- by handing it in personally at the Bundestheaterkassen, Opernring 2, 1010 Vienna or at one of the box offices of the Austrian Federal Theaters.
- by sending the completed and signed form by post to ART for ART Theaterservice GmbH, Kartenvertrieb, Arsenal Objekt 19, 1030 Vienna
- scanned by e-mail to tickets@bundestheater.at
The BundestheaterCard is available in two versions
- BundestheaterCard without SEPA direct debit mandate (without direct debit order)
- BundestheaterCard with SEPA direct debit mandate (with direct debit order). This allows you to make convenient cashless payments at all box offices of the Austrian Federal Theatres, also when booking by telephone (+43 1 513 1 513) or online at www.burgtheater.at, www.wiener-staatsoper.at, www.volksoper.at
Standing Place PLUS for the Vienna State Opera
As a supplement to the BundestheaterCard, the Standing Place PLUS scheme is available for the Vienna State Opera for a one-off fee of € 28 (from the 2025/26 season). With Standing Place PLUS, you can purchase discounted standing tickets at a reduction of between € 4 and € 7, which can be booked from 10 am on the day before the performance. Only one standing ticket may be purchased per BundestheaterCard per performance.
